Have you restarted the vC Ops vApp? It looks like the badge just isn't calculating, even thought it is getting metrics (sparkline shows data).

I'm seeing the same issue as well. Building new DL360 Gen 8 servers, built from a 5.5 disk then used Update Manager to patch up. During setup and scan for iSCSI the machine hangs with the previously mentioned symptoms of not even being able to use F2/F12 at console of server to reboot.
Power cycled the server and on boot it takes FOREVER. Gave up, unzoned the iSCSI initiators at my array, and the server then quickly finished booting.
Will attempt a fresh install, again, this time from a 5.5u1 fresh media.

I think you are mixing up two features. HA - which is supposed to restart VMs in case of a host failure - and DRS, which live migrates VM's to other hosts if required. DRS will also kick in if you set the host to Maintenance Mode so you can safely reboot the host once all VM's have been migrated off the host. Using the F12 method to reboot or shutdown the host will result in a hard reboot/shutdown where HA will restart the VMs on other hosts if configured that way.

Installing vSphere CLI on Debian
I'm attempting to install VMware-vSphere-SDK-for-Perl-4.0.0-161974.x86_64 on Debian 7 64-bit. Install goes without error. But when I try to use it (vmware-cmd), I get the error "/usr/bin/perl: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/perl/5.14/auto/XML/LibXML/Common/Common.so: undefined symbol: Perl_Gthr_key_ptr"
This leads me to believe that it doesn't like perl 5.14. Is there any way to fix it?

What you're saying about LAG ports not being in standby makes a lot of sense. The "Manage->Settings->LACP->Migrating network traffic to LAGs" link off the 5.5 web client instructs to do this very thing however. I wonder if its misinformation or if the rules of the game have changed.
Unfortunately we're not going to be able to test any solutions becuase we've just discovered that there aren't stacking modules on the Powerconnect M6220's that we're trying to talk LACP with. Each blade uplink talks with a different M6220 & without stacking these switches link aggregation won't work. Whether or not this would prevent the LAG from moving to standby isn't clear to me but it appears that link aggregation is off the menu.
The LBT solution promoted by longwhiteclouds looks promising. Now I only have to convince the network folks that this will be OK.

vcac 6.0.1 fresh install issues logging into vcac with domain creds / client integration plugin
We setup a fresh vcac 6.0.1 and edited the tenant. We've added our AD connection and groups and when we select test connection it succeeds. However, when I try to login with my domain account name@domain.com and password and hit loging it seems to hang. If I select "use windows session authenticaton" I get an error "windows session authentication login has failed as a result of an error caused by the VMware client integration plugin."
Just to make sure, I downloaded the plugin from a vsphere 5.5 web client and installed it. Same error after that.

Virtual Vcenter 5.0 Update 2 - Update Manager
I am needing to update my ESXI 5.0 Update 2 hosts and I dont have Update Manager in my Vcenter Server. Is it possible to run a Vcenter update manager with a Virtual vcenter?

Возможно Вы и правы - только беда в том, что у меня под рукой нет линукс-машинки с GUI`ем, одни shell`овые серверы...
Да и толку с такой правоты - я вот сейчас попробовал зайти последовательно с андроидного планшета (4.1.1), с iPhone 4 и с Mac OS X 10.5.8.
Каждый раз удалённый vCSA требовал вначале скачать и установить на мой терминал Adobe Flash Player.
С винды же заходилось сразу - видимо, там была более-менее актуальная версия Flash Player.
Вот только планшет и смартфон соснули - адобовский сайт рассыпался в извинениях, что Android и iOS не поддерживают FlashPlayer. А для работы апплайнса с Mac OS требуется 12-я версия плеера, которая у меня не встаёт, бо рассчитана на 10.6 и выше.
Т.е. удалённо я смогу работать либо с виндовых планшета/ноута (за MS-смартфон уже тоже не поручусь), либо с планшета/ноута на линухе (если ещё чего в этом варианте не всплывёт нехорошего). Ну или MBA/MBP со свежей Mac OS X. Планшеты/смартфоны с Аndroid и iOS идут лесом.
Это я ведь даже зайти на vCSA не смог - а когда бы ткнулся поработать с консолью VM, что эта зараза ещё попросила бы ей сделать вместо скачивания VMWare-ClientIntegrationPlugin-5.5.exe? подрочить вприсядку?
Соответственно, накрывается вагиной затея поменять виндовый vCenter на vCSA - нахрена он мне такой красивый, если я удалённо не смогу работать с VM`ками?
Не, ну можно, конечно, попробовать взгромоздить на vCSA GUI и заходить на апплайнс по VNC (или добавить xrdp и лазить по RDP), после чего запускать браузер на самом апплайнсе - но это же кривое жопоголовое рукожопие будет... 
Ну и кто теперь вмваревцы как не уродливые ублюдки?Вот разорвало бы их на Яве сделать? Млять!

Re: vCAC 6.0 advanced service designer. Set a default value to the requesting users user name or email address.
I created an action and placed it in the default value of the workflow presentation but at that point it is returning null. If I put that in a scriptable task within the workflow then the values show up. I am gonna assume there is no execution context in the advanced service when it is presenting the form. It must just look at the workflow and create the form in the vCAC UI which appears to include running the action specified but I don't think the workflow run with the additional parameters exists yet.

For anyone reading this thread that might be interested in the exact steps I took to accomplish getting the email address of the owner I created:
1. created an action that looks up the vCACVm by comparing the vCenterVm.config.uuid to the vCACVm.vmUniqueID
2. grabbed the user name from the property labeled "__Legacy.Workflow.User"
3. did a lookup in AD and grabbed the users email address
4. Put the previous 3 items into an action that returns the email address and made this action the default value for the form
This doesn't accomplish what I had originally set out to do but it at least gives me a reasonable default value as most of the time it would be the owner electing to do this. At some point hopefully some of these user context type things will be something we can specify as a default. username, email address, office location, pretty much anything about the user logged in we know would be nice to be able to specify as a default or get OGNL expressions working from the vCO workflows and we can just take care of it there.

I just went a reproduced the problem (which is easily reproduceable). This time I tried connecting to vcenter with vsphere client while the problem is happening. I can connect to vCenter server with vsphere client with no problem. But if I go back to the command line and try connecting with connect-viserver the problem continues on the command line.
Also - if I exit powercli and reopen it when the problem is occuring, I can run a successful connect-viserver again. As long as I don't involve the vcops powershell module, everything is fine after I exit powercli and reopen it.

In what way do you "worry". As a.p. says host-only networking is somewhat more isolating against some threats but the fact is that Windows XP after 4/8 won't receive either security or program updates. I'm not sure about products like Office 2010/13 however. The best defence is always to keep you AV up to date. 3rd party sofware can be vetted and some will be updated by the authors.
